This piece was inspired by the somewhat true statement that Americans have love affairs with cars.
The driver is the man and the car is the new girl in town: she is as colorful as she could be. We don’t know how to get along with her but we can’t get along without her– a little bit like marriage.
As a child, every little boy played with cars.
“Caddy” is a colorful reminder of the time of play before there will be only driving cars on the roads and not on the floor of the living room.
