Good Boy Gone Bad
"Good Boy Gone Bad" seduces viewers into a world where innocence meets provocation. Constructed from recycled plush Snoopy toys, the reclining figure is adorned with glossy black acrylic elements—harnesses, sunglasses, and studs—that echo BDSM aesthetics and toy with themes of control, desire, and transformation.
A commanding Woodstock figure, leash in hand, flips expectations of power and passivity, infusing the work with both humor and edge. The familiar becomes uncanny: childhood symbols are reimagined through an adult gaze, complicating our relationship to play, obedience, and rebellion.
The work plays on contrasts—soft vs. hard, passive vs. dominant, familiar vs. fetishized. By embedding sexual innuendo within a visually ludique structure, Good Boy Gone Bad destabilizes the boundary between fantasy and satire. It’s cheeky. It’s bold. It dares you to laugh—and then look again...
