If you always wanted to cover up that somewhat irrelevant vanity in your apartment entrance or prove your father/mother-in-law you are undeniably the one, then don't close your browser window!
- The Creative Mosaic workshop is a hands-on course designed to challenge your creativity; it's where creative spirits like to be!
By removing boundaries on the media and the materials used, your mind can start to race freely; the price to pay for this is that you will likely come up with ideas and designs requiring a little more skills than you actually possess.
On the other hand, you will have the freedom to work on the media of your choice (table top, shelves, cabinet, small mirror frame...).
- While we have a substantial amount of resources to obtain bases and materials from, the cost is not included in the price shown above.
It is practicaly impossible to fairly assess a price tag identical for all students. As part of this class, we will help you define a list of what you will need and of what you will actually use in order to start your project.
As always, all tools, adhesives, grout, apron are still available to you at NO CHARGE.
As mentioned before, you will make your own choice as the kind of materials necessary to the realization of your project.
This is the highlight of this workshop; there are an infinite amount of materials than can be used on a mosaic piece: Pebbles, stones, seashells and dishes other than plates are only a few examples. From time to time we will have some material available to you at a low cost, however we do not guarantee the accessibility under the Creative workshop.
- With 7 classes of 3 hours each you will have the time to design and build your piece. However, you will certainly encounter "road blocks" during the design and/or production phases.
Valerie is a Mosaic professional with extensive creative insights and problem-solving advice all of which create an efficient learning framework.
- Consequently, the Student and Advanced workshop are for you to take the most value out of Valerie's artistic and scholastic skills.
During the mandatory introductory class (Cost is $20, refunded if you sign up) you and Valerie will discuss your project proposal and become familiar with the world of mosaic with the viewing of famous Mosaic Artists books and prior students projects portfolios.
Some experience of working with your hands and a basic ability to operate tools effectively and safely is recommended.
